Nick Exline

Nick Exline is an AICP, Principal Planner. Nick has 20 years of land use planning experience in some of the most beautiful and regulatory challenging places in the western United States. For the last fifteen years, Nick has been the lead land use planning consultant on an array of planning projects in the Tahoe Basin. Nick’s passion for environmentalism has ensured that the land use planning projects he leads achieve both a high return on investment and significant environmental benefits. This ethic has resulted in Nick receiving numerous awards and accolades, including a Tahoe Best in the Basin Award.

Nick’s passion for civic engagement includes being a member of several different boards and committees and to working with many communities to establish their 100% renewable energy goals. In addition to establishing the goals, Nick works with these communities to develop the planning processes needed to ensure that these communities meet their climate objectives.

In today’s world, a successful presentation with a strong public speaker can be the difference between success and failure. As a TEDx alumni, Nick has the speaking and presentation skills needed to make your project a success.

Nick lives in South Lake Tahoe with his wife Kelly and children Callum and Mia.

Melissa Bickenbach

Melissa is a Senior Planner who brings over 14 years of land development experience to Exline & Company, Inc. and a decade specializing in the Lake Tahoe area. As a Senior Planner her area of expertise includes lakefront residential estates and shoreline projects.

Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Diego State University, in Public Administration where she focused her studies in City Planning.  Melissa’s planning background includes land use evaluation, feasibility studies, master/community planning, entitlements and permitting of large scale mixed-use, residential, commercial/retail, hospitality and healthcare projects in Southern California and Arizona.  In addition to planning, Melissa has a background in construction management and administration of multi-million dollar custom home projects in Truckee and Lake Tahoe. 

Melissa’s hobbies include gardening, floral arrangement, cooking, photography, collecting vintage treasures and enjoying time with the family at the beach, boating, kayaking on Lake Tahoe and skiing those perfect and uncrowded powder days on the mountain.

Andrea Gonzalez

Andrea is an Associate Planner I with Exline & Company, Inc, and is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in moving large scale commercial and lakefront projects forward to success. She grew up in rural Nevada frequently visiting Lake Tahoe for recreational getaways. Andrea is a graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno earning a B.A. in Geography specializing in Environmental Policy & Management. Throughout her career, she has continually sought to gain greater experience and knowledge in all areas of planning and development. Andrea strives to continually incorporate environmentally-conscious aspects to her projects.

Andrea enjoys a combination of outdoor recreation which include simple walks and hikes wherever mountains are present, but also enjoys spending time in the gym.  Andrea is a big sci-fi fan and enjoys immersing herself in new media, staying current with any new releases in film and video games.

Jaden Wuelzer

Jaden is an Associate Planner I with Exline & Company and contributes by managing projects and leading them to success. As a Northern Nevada native she has always been inclined to make a difference in the Tahoe basin. Jaden is graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in the spring of 2025 with a B.S. in Environmental Science specializing in pollution and contamination. Throughout her school career Jaden found environmental law and policy classes particularly intriguing. She has also focused on gaining hands-on experience while in school, leading her to multiple part time positions and internships, including work in a facility regulated by federal agencies. She is an active member of the Nevada Water Resources Association, and the TRIO STEM scholars program through the University of Nevada, Reno. 

Jaden continually strives to expand her knowledge in the planning and permitting field, and is excited to work on projects where environmentally sustainable principles are applied. 

Jaden likes spending her free time hiking, camping, reading, and as a lover of music she is always looking for concerts nearby to attend. 

Shannon Witt

Shannon is an Assistant Planner II and brings over 18 years of expertise as a Real Estate Broker in the Tahoe Basin and surrounding areas, specializing in residential, commercial, and land development. With a deep understanding of the region’s unique environmental and planning challenges, Shannon is committed to facilitating sustainable development that respects the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the Lake Tahoe area. Originally from the Bay Area, Shannon moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1998, drawn by the area’s stunning landscapes and the opportunity to contribute to its thoughtful growth.

Shannon holds a BA in Psychology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a focus on Family and Child Counseling and a minor in Gerontology.   As the Vice President of the Tahoe Youth and Family Services Board, Shannon is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, sustainable community that supports both current residents and future generations.  As an advocate for environmentally responsible development Shannon has served on the board of the South Tahoe Association of Realtors for the past eight years, where she has actively supported policies that balance growth with environmental stewardship.

Outside of her professional life, Shannon enjoys immersing herself in the outdoors, whether hiking, skiing, or exploring new corners of the region with her dog, Willow. She is passionate about ensuring that South Lake Tahoe continues to grow in a way that preserves its natural resources and fosters a strong, interconnected community.

Karina Szkiladz

Karina is an Assistant Planner II at Exline & Company, with a passion for Tahoe’s landscape and community.  Originally from Brooklyn, she relocated to Lake Tahoe in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the mountains, lifestyle, and tight-knit community.

With a B.A. in Environmental Studies and membership in the South Tahoe Association of Realtors, Karina offers valuable insight into the region’s unique environmental and permitting landscape. Her background gives her a balanced perspective on development and conservation within the Tahoe Basin.

When she’s not working, Karina is likely exploring the outdoors—skiing fresh powder in the winter or hiking the area’s scenic trails in the summer. Her passion for nature and community is reflected in everything she does.

Madi Kilkenny

Madi Kilkenny is an Assistant Planner I with Exline & Company, Inc., where she supports land use planning and development projects throughout the Tahoe Basin. Madi’s background is rooted in technical communication and sustainability, holding a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a specialization in Business and Sustainability, and a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Sciences with a minor in GIS from Washington State University. She leverages her experiences in academia, public agencies, and private-sector projects to help clients streamline intentional development while supporting the long-term stewardship of the Tahoe region.

Based in North Lake Tahoe, Madi is an avid outdoor recreator who enjoys skiing, mountain biking, surfing, and hiking with her dog. Her appreciation for the region’s unique alpine ecosystem inspires both her professional work and personal commitment to the long-term stewardship of the region.
